TuneAid is an iPod backup and restore utility for Windows. It can single-handedly copy any song from any iPod or iPhone into your computer.
When you connect an iPod to your computer and run TuneAid, it will detect the device and display all the playlists and songs that are stored on it. You can then browse your songs by genre, artist, and album. You can play individual songs via the built-in media player, which has a few shortcuts for mouse-free operation.
TuneAid performs two backup functions. First, it allows you to copy songs from an iPod to your computer for backup purposes. Alternatively, it allows you to copy songs from the iPod to iTunes. Thus, you can copy songs from your iPod to another one quite easily.
To backup songs, you simply need to select them on the screen and hit the desired option. Also, you can carry out a full iPod backup by telling the application to backup the whole iPod.
When TuneAid first detects an iPod, and depending on its size, it can take a little while to load all the songs. And it becomes unresponsive for a while, too. However, after the initial process is done, the application becomes much smoother.
